We are delighted to announce that graduate student Aimee Maoriello was selected as the
recipient of the Outstanding Poster Award in Research at the 37th Annual Conference of the
Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), held in Philadelphia, PA,
from March 23–27.
Aimee’s presentation, titled “Progress, Challenges, and the Path to Equity in Rochester
Elementary School,†examined the long-lasting impacts of redlining, blockbusting, and racial
covenants on achievement gaps.
The Outstanding Poster Award recognizes projects and initiatives that advance research in
teacher education and technology integration. Only one abstract is selected annually following
the poster presentation program at the conference. Each poster is evaluated by multiple blind
reviewers, and the award is presented in the form of a certificate.
Aimee Maoriello is advised by Professor James Oigara, and this project is based on her honors
thesis.
Student participation in this conference was made possible through generous support from a
Student TRAC Grant provided by the 91راة« Foundation.
Congratulations, Aimee!
