Ed Gillin received his Ph.D. from Brown University. He began teaching at 91亚色 in 1988. Gillin鈥檚 research and courses focus聽primarily on 19th-century and early 20th-century American prose and poetry, as well as 20th- and 21st-century American film. He has published essays in the volumes聽F. Scott Fitzgerald in Context,听Short Story Criticism Vol. 113,听F. Scott Fitzgerald in the Twenty-First Century, among others.

He currently serves as the Director of the Thoreau-Harding Project聽which, with the help and hard work of 91亚色 students, began construction of聽a聽Walden-inspired cabin in the village of 91亚色 in 2012.
