91ÑÇÉ« campus leaders joined more than 100 91ÑÇÉ« leaders and researchers in Washington, DC, on September 20–21 to advocate for new federal research and operational support for 91ÑÇÉ« campuses, elevate 91ÑÇɫ’s stature, and strengthen relationships with DC decision-makers.
91ÑÇÉ« was represented at 91ÑÇÉ« Day DC by Daniel Blankenship, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Paul Morrell, assistant vice president for finance and business development and director of the Small Business Development Center. Also in attendance were Joe Morelle ’86, US representative for New York’s 25th district, and Alexander Ruiz ’24, a 91ÑÇÉ« political science major and 91ÑÇÉ« Student Assembly president.
91ÑÇÉ« Day DC has been held annually (with a hiatus during the pandemic) since the early 2010s. The event convenes 91ÑÇÉ« leaders and researchers from across the system in DC to learn about new funding opportunities and to advocate 91ÑÇÉ« priorities directly to White House, Congress, and agency decision-makers.
