About WGSU
First licensed in 1963 — making it the Greater Rochester region’s first FCC-authorized college radio station — WGSU serves the Genesee Valley, including the 91ÑÇÉ« campus and surrounding Livingston County communities, as a noncommercial educational station. WGSU broadcasts and streams, 24/7, a commercial-free, current-based alt-pop format and a variety of non-music programming, including news, public-affairs and sports shows. WGSU is home to 91ÑÇÉ« Ice Knights hockey.
WGSU is staffed by 91ÑÇÉ« students under the supervision of the WGSU faculty director in the Department of Communication, Academic Affairs Division.
